Miley Cyrus leads GQ’s ‘least influential’ & ‘least sexy’ lists: rude?

Miley Cyrus

As we talked about yesterday, Miley Cyrus turned 21 (with “the gayest cake ever“) over the weekend. The internet is still leaking the happenings of her birthday party because that’s how the news cycle runs. I don’t think Miley will mind at all since seems like the type to celebrate her birthweek or birthmonth. Of course she misses her birthday already. She loves being the focus of everyone attention.

Anyway, the above photo comes from Kelly Osbourne’s Instagram page. As you can see, Miley appears pleased to carry that champagne bottle like a champ. She no longer has to hide her drinking, you know? TMZ says Miley’s birthday party was filled with twerking dancers, The Lorax, and a teepee. Happy freaking birthday indeed. Well besides the burglary that happened at Miley’s house on Friday. Estimates put the haul at over $100,000 of jewelry and purses. Speculation is that her engagement ring from Liam Hemsworth might have been part of the take.

Now for the meat of this post, which is all about a few of GQ’s recent buzz-baiting lists. About a month ago (and I ignored this at the time), the magazine included Miley in two entries of the Least Sexy Moments of 2013 list. They called out both Miley’s twerktastic VMA performance and her “Wrecking Ball” video. Other not-sexy entries included Lena Dunham’s topless ping pong moment in Girls and Kristen Stewart’s everpresent scowl. I think you can guess what kind of list this is — one designed to be cruel and one that features only “unsexy” females and not males. Ugh.

Now GQ has published a list of the 25 Least Influential Celebrities of 2013. The list includes Anthony Weiner, Lady Gaga, Ryan Reynolds, Paula Deen, Barack Obama, Dennis Rodman, and Miley Cyrus. I can see why Deen is on the list, but it seems really unnecessary to put even her on a list with the likes of Jodi Arais.

GQ justifies the Miley entry by saying she’s “basically trying every inane strategy she could think of to rile up America’s few remaining pearl clutchers,” and “what’s sad is that it totally worked.” I’m not saying these statements are wrong, but Miley has been sadly influential amongst young women. So many people were dressed up as Miley for Halloween. Even if they did so as a joke, Miley’s still influencing them in one way or another.

GQ seems to be dragging Miley’s name into the lists because they know her name gets press.

Miley Cyrus

Now for some replays of Miley’s EMAs dress. Because — let’s face it — the girl who “can’t be tamed” been very tame lately.

Tom Cruise squirms in deposition, admits he skipped Suri visits for CO$ events

Tom Cruise

Yesterday we covered the tale of Tom Cruise continuing to get his lifts in a wad over Life & Style’s “abandoned by daddy” story. He’s still suing Bauer Media Group and sounds pretty obsessed whereas he’s made threats over other tabloid and magazine stories but quickly dropped his complaints. Here’s the thing: the original L&S story was true in the sense that Tom hadn’t seen Suri for 13 weeks. Did they have to use “abandoned” in the cover story title? No. That was purely sensational wording and distasteful when it comes to Suri’s future well being.

Some of you don’t understand why I’m not siding with Tom against the tabloids. I’ll admit my bias against the main crusader of the COS, but I still think he’s wrong to ask for $50 million from the court. If it was merely a question of Tom being picked on by the tabs, that would be one thing. Yet Tom uses the tabloids for his own purposes. Remember when he invited a Star reporter to witness his dramatic swimming pool reunion with Suri last July? This was the same time period when he did all those silly pap walks too. One could argue Tom had no control over getting swarmed by photogs, but he’s proven to us over the past year how he’s perfectly capable of visiting with Suri on the down low. Tom wanted to get papped with Suri last summer, and he wanted the tabloids to see what a loving father he is. Let me tell you, that was one glowing report from Star. You see … Tom loves the tabloids when they play his game.

As an example of Tom’s game, this week’s issue of the Enquirer paints a curious story about how Tom is so worried over his 18-year-old son, Connor. Of course Connor spins record by the name “DJ C Squared,” so he’s a regular fixture in many Hollywood nightclubs. Tom is quite concerned because there’s smoking, alcohol, and pretty models all over the place in these clubs. Tom also thinks Connor’s friends, including Alex Pettyfer, are a bad influence. Well that confirms my suspicions about Alex going CO$, but honestly, there will be vodka where DJs perform. The article goes on to say, “Tom’s worst nightmare would be having one of his kids go down the same path as Lindsay Lohan or Miley Cyrus.” HA. See what a loving father Tom Cruise is?

Here’s some more juicy stuff from Radar on Tom’s deposition for the L&S lawsuit:

On the “Abandoned By Daddy” cover: “I mean, come on, that is absolutely disgusting. That is absolutely disgusting. And I have to tell you with everything … Listen, I am a public person, I absolutely understand. For me there is … I tolerate a tremendous amount and I’m very privileged to be able to have the life that I have, and I believe that. But there is a line that, that I draw for myself, and that’s it.”

Did Katie divorce Tom “in part to protect Suri from Scientology”? “Listen, I find that question offensive. I find it, those statements offensive. Like with any relationship, there are many different levels to it. You know, I, I find it very offensive. There is no need to protect my daughter from my religion.”

Ms. Holmes has never indicated in any way that was one of the reasons she left you? “Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes.”

Is Suri currently practicing Scientology? “No.”

Is Katie a suppressive person? “That is a distortion and a simplification of the matter. I don’t want to just give an oversimplification of religious doctrine.”

[From Radar Online]

Awww, isn’t that cute? Tom’s pretending like he doesn’t know what a suppressive person is. I guess he forgot all about that propaganda video where he laughs hysterically about SPs at 4:25 (for a full 90 seconds). This deposition is really something else. It goes on for 48 pages, and Radar has now released MORE. Damn, this is getting good. This part is about how Tom didn’t see Suri from the end of July 2012 until Thanksgiving (when heworked most of the weekend anyway). The Liftmaster … he is squirming:

Why didn’t he see Suri for over 100 days? “Listen, when there is a divorce — if you look at this also in terms of Suri coming to me and certain agreements that you have, when a divorce occurs thing change. And it’s more complicated, as everyone know when that is, when that occurs, and there are certain agreements; now you have to ask for permission and organize schedules to make things happen. So it wasn’t — it’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”

He parents Suri by telling “wonderful stories” on the phone: “You have to work at it. I’ve gotten very good at it. I’e gotten very good at it. I tell wonderful stories and they like hearing it.”

Does that substitute for a real visit? “No, it doesn’t. As I said, I’ve gotten pretty good at communicating and I also find that, you know, Suri, you know, is a very happy child and confident and has a good sense of herself.”

Why he chose to skip a scheduled Suri visit to spend 24 hours at a CO$ event inOctober: “It was an important event. I felt it was important.”

Is Tom partially responsible for that skipped visit? “No. There are many different circumstances. One, first of all, at this point when you’re looking at — you can’t compare Reacher to All You Need Is Kill or Edge of Tomorrow (movies he was working on at various times). And the situation, you know, when you’re thinking of your child and thinking what is the best thing for them, and of course, respecting Katie’s wishes in terms of Suri’s scheduling, the nature of making that film, the nature of having finished one film, and kind of — agreements change, you know. As I said, things change. Things change. Certainly what doesn’t change is the love I have for my daughter, the fact that I didn’t abandon her emotionally, physically, or otherwise. And in terms of how I feel about her in terms of the responsibility that I feel towards my child is not — is not waned in any way.”

[From Radar Online]

What do I get from this part of the deposition? Blame Katie. She divorced Tom, who could no longer force Katie to spend weeks at a time following him around the globe. This lawsuit is only making Tom look bad. He’s only saying things in this deposition that will haunt his reputation for years. If Tom thinks winning the suit will make people stopbooing him at Dodgers games, he’s very mistaken.

I just wanted to include these photos of Connor because he’s growing into a very good looking young man. Too bad about the CO$ taint.

Star: Taye Diggs was grinding up on some club girl, cheating on his wife Idina

Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel have been together more than a decade. They have a kid together (3-year-old son Walker) and for the longest time, I thought they were a down-to-earth, low-key couple and I truly believed that they had a traditional, monogamous marriage. Then a few years ago, I wrote that in a post and everyone yelled at me and informed me that there are tons of rumors that they maybe have an open marriage or that he just fools around a lot (either/or). And since that day, my innocence has been lost! Now I can’t look at Taye and Idina without thinking about how he’s allegedly fooling around all the time. Ugh. Anyway, I bring that up because – surprise! – Star Mag spoke to a woman (and they gave her a polygraph too!) who claims she witnessed Taye all up on some Not Idina Lady at a club. Apparently, Taye and this lady were pretty much dry-humping behind a pillar. Damn it, Taye.

Taye Diggs may be cheating on his wife of 10 years, Idina Menzel! Taye was spotted getting frisky with a sexy brunette while partying at Emerson nightclub in Hollywood on June 19.

“Taye was hanging all over the woman at a private table,” dishes a fellow clubgoer, who passed a polygraph test at Star’s request. “At 1 am, he led her upstairs to the back of the club, and they began making out behind a pillar. They were basically dry humping.”

Most recently, the same source say Taye, 42, flirting up a storm at a Sunday night Summer Sessions event at The Colony Night Club in Hollywood.

“He was acting like a bachelor,” spills the mole.

Taye’s racy behavior will undoubtedly come as a shock to his family. This past December, he appeared on Access Hollywood and gushed over the love he has for Idina and their 3-year-old son Walker. “We’ve got a kid… it make me more attracted to her every day.”

But despite the pair’s public persona, this isn’t the actor’s first brush with infidelity. Another source confirmed Taye’s scandalous ways after she witnessed him flirting with women in May 2011 at Voyeur club: “He was on a mission to get a bunch of hot girls.”

Taye’s publicist, Marla Farrell from WKT Public Relations, tells Star that the story is “not true”.

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

Did you notice that it’s the same “source” (the one taking the polygraph!) who claims she witnessed Taye fooling around TWICE. On two separate nights? Is this chick Taye Diggs’ stalker? Or is she employed by Idina? God knows. Anyway, I guess I might believe this. I’m still disappointed though. He a dog. It ain’t right.

Chris Brown quit following Rihanna’s Twitter after she followed Drake’s Instagram

If there was every any doubt that Hollywood is simply an exaggerated version of high school, then look no further than this sampling of Rihanna’s recently Instagrammed pictures as well as Chris Brown’s childish behavior in response to almost anything. This time around, Chris is throwing a hissy fit because — according to Life & Style, which somehow keeps tabs on things like this — Rihanna decided to follow Drake on Instagram, and she did so at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning. Apparently Chris pays way too much attention to who his lady follows because he logged on the next day to his Twitter account and stopped following Rihanna’s tweets. Such drama, right?

It cracks me up that Chris can’t handle his girlfriend following his rival on Instagram, but I guess he’s still all sore about he and Drake’s NYC nightclub brawl last summer. Supposedly, Rihanna and Drake were doing the deed in 2010 when Rihanna was smart enough to not be talking to Chris, and apparently Chris still feels threatened by Drake.

Chris Brown

So I guess maybe Chris and Rihanna are officially “off” again, which should make his dad happy. Over the weekend, Clinton Brown spoke with the NY Daily News about howhe didn’t want Chris to date Rihanna any longer: “You have to have a balance in a relationship. You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical.” Clinton also expressed worry that this relationship would end in tragedy, which is interesting since it’s widely speculated that Chris grew up in a violence-filled home. For what it’s worth, Chris and Rihanna have reportedly blown off Clinton’s advice because “not everybody is going to get their love.” Of course, that love can be shattered by something as little as Rihanna following Drake on Instagram, which is too silly for words.

Here are some photos of Breezy painting a mural on the side of a building last Friday in Miami. He’ll never realize how damn ridiculous he looks with his ass hanging out of his pants.

Beyonce in trouble with PETA for wearing iguana & python skins, plus a mink coat

By now I’m sure you’ve heard about Beyonce’s latest gift to her public – her publicist sent an email to Buzzfeed demanding/requesting that they take down several unflattering photos of Beyonce as she performed at the Half-time show. It wasn’t a standard “take-down notice” which every blog gets at some point when the origin of aphoto is up for grabs – this was just an attempt from Team Beyonce to control what copyrighted Getty images were used in stories about Beyonce, and she had no rights over the images. All of the photos Beyonce wanted pulled are ones where she’s making“RAWR! COME AT ME!!” faces. You can see the pics here.

But that’s not the only controversy about Beyonce these days. Apparently, PETA is all up on Bey because for Bey’s two major public appearances in 2013, she’s worn animal skins.

Beyoncé is in trouble with PETA. Again. The animal rights group is angry at Bey forshaking and shimmying in a Rubin Singer leather bodysuit, made of python, paneled iguana and leather.

“We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés, she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane veganoptions, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

PETA was also furious with the singer after she wore a three-quarter-lengthChristian Dior mink coat to sing at the inauguration.

The group adds that the “game was great” however, and expressed love for Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who just joined PETA in protesting the fur industry by starring in their new “Ink, Not Mink” campaign.

[From the NYDN]

Did you know her Half-time bodysuit was made out of python and iguana? That just seems completely random, especially since it just reads on camera like plain old leather. Why go so fancy (iguana?!) when it just looks like regular leather? As for Beyonce wearing mink at the Inauguration – yeah. She did that. Most people didn’t notice because she took off her mink coat for photos and she “performed” (lip synced) without the coat, in just the Pucci gown.

Did Chris Brown violate his parole & did he even complete his community service?

I didn’t do the follow-up on the Frank Ocean-Chris Brown fight because I didn’t really know where to begin, and because I was kind of disappointed with the outcome. Frank Ocean has decided not to press charges against Chris, even though most sources claim that Chris came after Frank and that Chris was the first one to throw a punch (how shocking). Frank has told TMZ (and other outlets) that the altercation began when Chris tried to shake Frank’s hand and Frank refused, telling Chris that he was in his parking space. Chris then punched Frank in the face, and Chris’s entourage jumped in, also attacking Frank. Someone yelled “f—got” and at some point Chris threatened to shoot Frank. Because of course. But Frank has declined to press changes, so does it even matter? According to TMZ, it might. They have a lengthy story about how Chris didn’t really do all of his community service hours and he’s likely violated his parole since his sentencing (for attacking Rihanna), so he might go to jail…? This is really detailed, so I’m just including the whole thing:

The L.A. County District Attorney has filed legal documents claiming Chris Brown has violated his probation by submitting bogus community service records … claiming in one case he swore he was picking up trash in Virginia when he was actually on a PRIVATE JET TO CANCUN …TMZ has learned.

We’ve learned the D.A. is alleging in legal docs Chris Brown may have LIED when he claimed he had performed all of his community service in connection with the Rihanna beating case.

Bryan T. Norwood, the Chief of Police in Richmond, VA., wrote a letter to the judge on September 14, claiming Brown successfully completed 202 days of community service — he was only required to perform 180. Norwood attached documents showing that Brown frequently worked at Tappahannock Children’s Center — a place where Brown’s mom was once a director — and did odd jobs such as painting, washing windows, waxing floors, cutting grass and picking up trash.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ … the Richmond P.D. admits they only supervised Brown on 9 or 10 occasions and on all other dates he was not supervised by anyone. And get this … the detective who had been assigned to oversee Brown’s community service was told she did not have to continue monitoring at the Children’s Center. The times, location and types of duty were provided by Chris Brown’s mother.

The D.A. claims Chris and the Chief of Police had a prior relationship. And there’s more. According to the docs, Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, “instructed” the lawyer for the Richmond P.D. on how to “handle” D.A. investigators’ questions about Chris’ community service. And Geragos told the probation officer there was a court order that Chris’ community service be removed from the probation department and given to the police chief. Fact is … there was no such court order.

Pretty ironic — during a progress hearing back in November, Geragos brazenly said the prosecutor had a “doubting attitude” for questioning a probation report which said Brown had met all his terms and conditions. And there’s more … the Administrator of the Children’s Center allegedly tried coaching the floor waxing guy on what to say to D.A. investigators, but he refused to lie and in fact had already told investigators he was the only one who waxed the floors for the past 3 years. Chris claimed in docs he waxed the floors on some occasions.

The judge was suspicious when the community service documents were filed, and sources tell us the D.A. began investigating and found no “credible, competent or verifiable evidence” that Brown did the 180 days community service. Sources tell TMZ … there’s no way Chris could have performed community service on some of the days, because he was out of the country doing concerts.

The D.A. calls Chris’ documentation “at best sloppy … and at worst fraudulent reporting.” The D.A. is asking the judge to reject Chris’ alleged Virginia community service hours and make him fulfill his obligation in L.A. County. By the way, the D.A. claims Chris’ mom was responsible for orchestrating work at the Children’s Center outside of normal operating hours and a key administrator told the D.A. she NEVER saw Chris perform any work at the center.

And the D.A. is also saying there are other possible probation violations, including:

– The Frank Ocean fight at the recording studio
– Brown testing positive for pot
– Failing to obtain a travel permit
– Allegedly grabbing and throwing a fan’s phone in Miami
– Throwing a chair through a window at “Good Morning America”

[From TMZ]

I live in Virginia and I was personally offended that Chris got to serve his community service in my state instead of in LA. I never understood that at all, because it seemed like a blatant attempt to confuse and obfuscate the situation regarding Chris’s actual community service – which was ordered by an LA court, correct? This is why the California Justice System’s motto is #YOLO. Because they can’t even keep track of the BS community service sentences they give out to young men who try to kill their girlfriends.

As for the possibility that Chris will actually be “punished” for these lies or whatever… doubtful. But sure, let’s hope for something.

Lance Armstrong admits to taking testosterone, EPO & human growth hormone

I won’t get into the reasons why I missed seeing Oprah’s first part of her exclusive interview with Lance Armstrong last night. From what I can see… Lance came clean about everything, sort of. He nitpicked some of the details – like, he said he didn’t make his teammates dope (“I didn’t invent the culture, but I didn’t try to stop the culture”) – but Lance admitted to a slew of charges that have been leveled at him for years. He admitted to taking banned substances since the mid-1990s, he admitted to taking testosterone, EPO, human growth hormone. The scariest part is Oprah asked him a series of questions about whether he thought he was wrong to dope (at the time) and he said “No.” When she asked if he felt like he was cheating, he said “No … I viewed it as a level playing field.” Here are some video segments.

When asked about all of the times he blatantly lied and sued the hell out of people who told the truth about him, Lance said: “I view this situation as one big lie that I repeated a lot of times… I know the truth. The truth isn’t what was out there. The truth isn’t what I said. I’m a flawed character, as I well know… All the fault and all the blame here falls on me.” Lance also said he stopped doping in 2005 and that he competed in the Tours de France in 2009 & 2010 clean – convenient because 2005 was the cut-off point for possible perjury charges against Lance, although I think a clever prosecutor would be able to make a good case for “conspiracy to commit perjury” and “conspiracy to commit fraud” which might have a longer statute of limitations.

As for WHY Lance lied so much and so often, for years and years, Lance said: “It just gets going and I lost myself in all that.” He called it his “flaw.” He’s such an a—hole.

USADA chief Travis Tygart released a statement after the interview aired – “Tonight,Lance Armstrong finally acknowledged that his cycling career was built on a powerful combination of doping and deceit…. His admission that he doped throughout his career is a small step in the right direction. But if he is sincere in his desire to correct his past mistakes, he will testify under oath about the full extent of his doping activities.”

Go here to see one the coldest parts of the interview, in my opinion – Lance chuckling about how many people he sued when they told the truth about him.
